Eric Light, BSci, DipLaws, CompTIA A+, AMNZCS

Managing Director

Role at Gravity

Eric founded Gravity Computing in April 2007, and has been the driving force behind the company since the beginning. He is passionate about automation, and loves to build solutions that genuinely help people reduce their workload. Eric spends his time building relationships, consulting with new clients on their needs, and then managing projects through to completion.

Background

Born in Whangarei, Eric spent most of his years growing up in West Auckland. He wrote his first computer program when he was eight years old, and has been heavily involved with computers ever since. Eric enjoys skiing, hiking, and camping with his wife and two boys. He has studied Law, Psychology, Linguistics, and Computer Science at the University of Waikato. Eric is an active member of the Waikato Chamber of Commerce, the New Zealand Open Source Society (NZOSS), the New Zealand Computer Society (NZCS), and the New Zealand Python Users Group (NZPUG). He is currently Chairman of the Waikato Branch of the New Zealand Computer Society, and is on the organising committee for an industry-led 48-hour business startup competition in Waikato, entitled Innes48.
